SUMMARY:SATIN Monthly Online Trainings
DESCRIPTION:SATIN holds monthly online trainings every second Tuesday of the month from 11:30am-1:00pm AZ time over zoom. You can register for the training series here — https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/1WnASRgxQySzvlxDRpXHcw \nDescriptions available for current month’s training session. Once training is complete it will be replaced by the recording link. \nTuesday\, March 10th-Speaker Dr Lizzy Rasmussen – Sleep\, Trauma\, and the Biology of Resilience- Access recording here \nTuesday\, April 14th – Speaker Robin Blumenthal — Predictive Brain- We apologize for being unable to record this session. \nTuesday\, May 12th – Speaker Andi Fetzner & Lori Chelius \nThe Basics: Creating a Shared Language for a Trauma-Informed Approach \nDescription: This interactive workshop builds a shared understanding of stress\, trauma\, and resilience as the foundation for a trauma-informed culture. Grounded in updated thinking around polyvagal theory\, the training explores how stress and trauma shape the way people show up — for themselves\, their colleagues\, and the people they support. Through guided content\, reflection\, and applied activities\, participants examine the impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Adverse Community Environments\, the role of systemic and intergenerational adversity\, and the science of the stress response. Participants will explore practical\, evidence-based strategies for resilience-building\, learn tools for intervention and prevention\, and engage with real-world scenarios to practice applying the concepts in their day-to-day work. The training emphasizes that a trauma-informed approach is less about what we do and more about how we do it — and that it starts with each of us. Whether you are new to trauma-informed practice or have been doing this work for years\, this training offers an updated perspective on resilience and capacity that is relevant at every level of experience. \nYou can see their bios here — https://resiliencelearningcommunity.com/about/ \nTuesday\, June 9th – TBD \nTuesday\, July 14th- TBD \nTuesday\, August 11th – TBD \nTuesday\, September 8th – TBD \nTuesday\, October 13th- TBD \nTuesday\, November 10th – TBD

SUMMARY:SATIN - Behind The Silence
DESCRIPTION:Southern Arizona Trauma Informed Network Online Learning Series \n“Behind the Silence” \nOver 500\,000 children in foster care face significant challenges related to complex physical\, mental\, and developmental health issues stemming from trauma; however\, there is a pathway to healing and growth. Through therapy\, behavioral coaching\, and the dedicated support of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)\, these children can not only recover but also flourish. This presentation will offer valuable insights from Delvyn\, who has provided care for and lived with more than one hundred foster children placed by the Department of Child Services (DCS). His experiences illustrate that\, with love\, care\, and support\, these children can transcend their troubled pasts and forge promising futures. Participants will come to understand the necessity and significance of addressing and healing from childhood trauma. They will also identify societal misconceptions and stereotypes\, learning how to navigate adversity during their transition from boyhood to manhood. Furthermore\, attendees will analyze and assess their personal values to determine their positive impact on their children and community. The session will emphasize the importance of contributing to the lives of children through support\, compassion\, and selflessness. – \nWe are sorry\, but due to the proprietary nature of the material presented\, we don’t record our trainings. \nTrainer: Delvyn Crawford\, Responsible Fatherhood Family Life Coach \nDelvyn is an author\, poet\, and Responsible Fatherhood Family Life Coach certified\nthrough the National Partnership for Community Leadership. As an evidence-based\nfacilitator\, Delvyn operates programs that strengthen fathers and families within schools\,\ncommunity centers\, juvenile detention centers\, jails\, and faith-based organizations. He\nprovides innovative ways for people to get engaged within their community\, and\nconnects them to resources that can assist them physically\, economically\, culturally\, and\nspiritually. Delvyn is also a multi-media communicator\, and musician who uses different\nmediums to convey a message of hope that focuses on the areas of family\, faith\,\ncommunity\, and love. \nThis training will take place from 11:30AM-1:30PM – Mountain Standard Time (Phoenix) \nThe Zoom Link for the training will be in the confirmation email you receive once you register. \nYou can register HERE
